Coolex were asked to provide a solution to overheating of the server room on the 7th floor. We proposed the installation of two 3.5kw wall mounted units connected to individual condensers located on the rooftop. A 7kw single system was not possible due to the limited access to the roof through a hatchway and increased size of condenser.

As we were only permitted to run exterior services, we employed a specialist rope access company to install the refrigeration pipework and cabling from the rooftop to point of entry on the 7th floor.

The rooftop condensers are mounted on concrete slabs upon rubber matting. This provides a solid base for the units, whilst protecting the roof from damage or possible vibration.

The installation was completed in one long Saturday.
