Site: Residential block of flats in Bromley

Project: There were two phases to this project. The scope of works was to replace the existing failed in-slab distribution pipework ground floor level and replace boilers and associated plant in exterior boiler room that were beyond economical repair.

Phase 1 (2007)

• Install new lateral Heating and HWS pipework from the exterior boiler room, through high level ground floor corridor branching off to pick up existing riser positions. Valve off for future connections, pressure test and insulate internally with Armorflex - externally trace heated and insulated with PIB covered rockwool.
• Install new suspended grid ceiling to conceal new internal pipework and fit new modular light fittings to suit.

Phase 2 (2009)

• Drain down heating and HWS system, strip out and remove existing boilers, calorifiers etc in external plant room.
• Connect all new previously installed distribution pipework into the existing system internally in readiness of swap-over.
• Supply and install new boilers, flue header arrangement and boost fan, low loss header, plate heat exchanger, buffer vessel, VT valves and pumps etc in plant room and connect to new distribution.
• Supply, install and commission a new plant control panel to operate all new plant and equipment.
• Insulate plant room pipework with foil faced rockwool, Identification bands and fit valve tags and valve chart.
• Test, commission and dose system on completion of works.
